Position Description
As the Marketing Intern at Flying Fish, you will learn about digital marketing strategy and implementation through discussions with staff and through the creation of digital marketing assets. Together, each of these assets will form a cohesive marketing campaign, and can be used as an example of your work. You will also have the opportunity to learn more about museums and the traveling museum exhibit industry.
The internship will last a semester, or approximately 15 weeks, and you will be expected to work out of our White Bear Lake, Minnesota location for 5-10 hours per week during normal business hours. This is an unpaid internship.
Responsibilities
Throughout the duration of the internship, you will work directly with Flying Fish’s marketing team to develop a portfolio of cohesive marketing assets to use as a demonstration of your work. Your tasks will include:
- Develop a 3-month strategic marketing plan
- Produce a digital newsletter
- Create several social media posts
- Design an advertisement
- Write a targeted blog post
- Compile your work into a professional portfolio
Learning Objectives
- Basic marketing strategy
- Copy writing and editing
- Social media marketing for businesses
- Familiarity with graphic design tools
- How to market using established corporate brand identities
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Familiarity with Google Suite and Adobe Suite
- Interest in marketing and museums
- A creative and curious mind
- You must provide your own laptop computer
