As Minnesota's state natural history museum, the Bell Museum’s mission is to ignite curiosity and wonder, explore our connections to nature and the universe, and create a better future for our evolving world. The Volunteer and Student Employee Coordinator supports this mission by facilitating rewarding opportunities for individuals to become involved in the educational and scientific work of the museum, both as student employees and volunteers. The coordinator assures that quality standards of volunteer and student recruitment, training and support are applied throughout both the public museum and the scientific collections. Areas of responsibility include volunteer recruitment and administration, human resources support for student employee hiring and general volunteer/student employee orientation and training.
Position responsibilities include: volunteer recruitment, retention and program coordination, 50%; undergraduate employee human resources administration, 30%; student employee and volunteer general orientation and training, 15%; and occasional volunteer event support, 5%.
