What we are looking for…
Push Play Creative is looking for a talented and versatile mid-level Designer or Senior Designer to join our creative team. The Designer will be responsible for various design needs that include brand design, campaign design, and overall event/experiences look and feel, as well as assist in other deliverables associated with event/experiential design. (Note: This is not a UX design role.) It could include any other design or creative request for various client jobs, from local to global. You will be required to design, art direct, and engage with clients as necessary to accomplish all of these deliverables and work within the agency’s team with both full-time and freelance resources as necessary.
As a creative agency specializing in brand activations, each project we take on is totally different from the next. With that, graphic scopes encompass a wide range of 2D needs — both digital and physical. The right candidate will demonstrate excitement for working across a variety of execution types as well as a persistent curiosity of new mediums and methods to try.
The Designer will work both independently and collaboratively at varying capacities: leading projects individually, leading projects in partnership with a teammate, or supporting projects for another teammate.
Example responsibilities:
- Creative development of original identity systems and/or overall graphic art direction for new campaigns or experiential properties; could include branding and packaging work.
- Creation of all print and digital graphics for campaigns or live events. Graphics could include: social and web assets, printed assets, environmental graphics, signage and wayfinding, branded swag, packaging, digital interfaces, micro-sites, video assets, and more.
- Proposal deck design.
- Generation of internal marketing materials.
- Branding or any other design assignment.
- Work directly with vendors and partners to see work through production phase (ex: printing companies, developers).
- Implement overall look/feel for events.
- 2D or 3D mockups (if needed), floor plans, and event inspiration.
- Assist Art Directors and Creative Director as needed to bring ideas to life.
- Work directly with Copywriter to develop the vision.
- Create site layouts for permitting and production purposes.
- Help source creative elements and provide art direction.
- Understand project management with ability to multitask own projects.
- Provide direction to scenic vendors and manage material selection.
- Oversee the build process to ensure quality and accuracy true to drawings.
- Onsite artistic direction to ensure accurate concept implementation.
- Fill in and assist anyone on the team as needed. This could relate to any internal team requests.
- Committed to creating high-quality work and building positive working relationships with all team members and clients.
- Ability to create 3D renders is a bonus, but not required.
Our Designer will have…
- A Portfolio displaying work examples (required).
- Preferred 4+ years of proven, hands-on creative design.
- Freelance experience or corporate client relationship experience.
- Bonus: Experience designing for installations, booths, pop-ups, mobile tours, large scale sets and stages for corporate events, concerts, and festivals.
- Graphics design skills with deep knowledge of Adobe Suite.
- Integrated marketing and event experience.
- Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong written and verbal interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated and self-starter, experienced with time management, multitasking, and prioritization.
- Experience coordinating activities with other artistic and creative individuals.
- Flexibility and adaptability to a wide range of clients and experiences — from IRL to hybrid to the digital space.
- Understanding of brand identity and how to weave it into creative work appropriately.
- Willingness to always be learning new things.
Location, travel, and salary:
- Team members located in MSP will convene in person once per week at co-working space The Coven. Fully remote employment is an option.
- Anticipate traveling a few times a year, as well as attending live events to style, art direct, and work the floor.
- For a mid-level Designer, salary is proposed at $65-75K. For a Senior Designer, salary will be adjusted according to experience.
- Benefits include health, unlimited paid time off, a phone allowance, hardware/software, an annual “curiosity stipend,” and co-working space support if remote.
